All about Kenya
Background
Kenya is located in Sub-Sahara Africa. Kenya is neighbors with Uganda, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Tanzania. It connects partially to a part of the East African Coast, in particular the Indian Ocean. Kenya lies in between the equator. Kenya is also close by Lake Victoria. In Kenya, the earliest signs of mankind was present. In 1963 Kenya had won independence from Britain. During that time, the politics were ruled and governed by a man of the name Jomo Kenyatta. In 1978 he was succeeded( or replaced because of his death) by Daniel Arap Moi who remained as ruler for about 24 years. KANU or the Kenya African National Union was the only legal around the era of the 1980's. Many factors such as international "pressure" and violent unrest such as riots led to more parties joining the run with KANU.
Current Affairs
The nation of Kenya has changed over the course of multiple centuries. Mwai Kibaki ended the ruling of the KANU government in 2002 when he won the elections. Even though Mwai Kibaki promised the citizens of Kenya that he would help end corruption, he was accused of draft (which is when government takes money for their own purposes). There are many major issues that still prevent Kenya from succeeding what their striving for. For example, one problem is the high UN-employment. When many citizens are unemployed, they have less money for necessary items such as food and clothes. This can lead to people doing illegal things and going against the government. Crime and poverty is another big issue. In Kenya, many are unemployed which can lead to poverty. They don't have money to sustain their families which can ultimately lead to many deaths. With more deaths, there are less people to help the country improve and help work. When people are in need of money, they usually do crimes and steal things from others. If someone where to be stealing, they would steal the person's valuables. When the person has been robbed, they can loose money and need to work more. Apart from all of Kenya's misbehave, they are a big Safari destination for tourists. Kenya's economy is very low in which they have been faced with corruptions. As a consequence of all the low money, food prices have gone up and fuel import prices are higher. Though recently in 2012, Kenya discovered oil helping improve trade and exports to other countries. This can help balance the deficit facing Kenya and help boost the economy.
